The Scotter Parish Council consists of up to 10 elected members - comprising the Chair, Vice-Chair and 8 members - all unpaid volunteers who work for the benefit of the residents in the community which includes Scotter, Scotterthorpe and Susworth.
The Clerk to the Parish Council is a paid, part-time employee.
The Parish Council usually meets once per month except in August, although occasionally there are additional extraordinary meetings.
Residents may attend full council meetings and can speak briefly on village matters at the commencement of the meeting in Parishioners Items.

The Parish Council represents and serves the whole community and is responsible for the services it provides. Following consultation with parishioners (for example via the Parish Plan and the Annual Parish Meeting), it establishes policies for action and decides how money will be raised and spent on behalf of the community. It is responsible for spending the money raised lawfully and without risk and for achieving the best value for money.
Parish Council meetings are normally held on the 3rd Monday of the month, a full list of dates can be found on the notice boards.
At the beginning of each meeting, there will be a session where members of the public can ask questions or raise concerns. Matters not on the agenda for that evenings' meeting cannot be discussed in detail, but if you wish to raise a non-agenda item, Council may choose to add it as an agenda item for the following meeting, or the Council may opt to respond to your query in writing.
Scotter Parish Council currently provides and maintains the following :
The War Memorial (The Green, Scotter).
Scotter Cemetery (Scotton Road, Scotter).
Allotments at the cemetery and on Scotterthorpe Road.
Areas of public open space at Riverside, Elizabeth Close, The Granary, Granary Fold, The Rookery, Southcliffe Road and Parson's Field.
Equipped play areas at The Rookery, Elizabeth Close and at The Granary.
Public seating within the Parish.
Christmas decorations.
It also maintains the grassed areas of the roadside verges and footpaths within the Parish on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council.
