Memorial Headstone Safety Testing to start 01 September 2025.
In accordance with current health and safety legislation and best practice guidance, Scotter Parish Council wishes to inform residents that memorial headstone safety testing will be carried out in Scotter Cemetery starting on 1st September 2025 and will continue until complete.
This routine testing is undertaken to ensure that memorials remain in a safe condition for visitors and staff. Any memorials found to be unstable or posing a risk may be temporarily supported, laid flat, or cordoned off, in line with national guidelines.
Owners of memorials are welcome to attend during the process and should contact the office if you wish to be present. Owners of memorials identified as unsafe will be contacted where possible and advised on the necessary steps to make the memorial safe.
