The Scotter Parish Plan should not be confused with the Scotter Neighbourhood Plan.
The Neighbourhood Plan has legal force and relates to land development and planning decisions. It is used by West Lindsey District Council to inform their decisions on planning applications for Scotter Parish.
The Parish Plan, on the other hand, is a community-led document which aims to provide a medium-long term plan for the parish, specifying what kind of amenities, organisations and support may be required to meet the parish's growing needs.
A hard copy of the current Parish Plan is lodged in the reference section of Scotter Library.
The current Parish Plan was created by Scotter Forward, and since 2011 it has informed numerous excellent improvements to the village. In summer 2020, Scotter Forward voted to transfer responsibility for the Parish Plan to the Parish Council. A review is currently taking place.
