Minutes of the meeting for Scotter Parish Council held on 31 October 2022, held at Scotter Village Hall.

2210/2/3 Planning for consideration and comment

Planning Application 145513 – Land adjacent to Scotter Village Hall, Scotton Road, Scotter, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, DN21 3SB 

Planning application to erect preschool building with external space and associated modifications to existing car park.

Following a lengthy discussion it was proposed, seconded and 

Resolved to object to the application on grounds of encroachment onto the playing field, loss of parking,  loss of access around the rear of the building causing evacuation complications. It is noted that the Parish Council support the requirement for a designated preschool facility but have concerns that this has been thoroughly thought through and is the correct location.

2210/2/4 Flooding – To consider sending a formal written complaint to the Environment Agency regarding the maintenance of the River Eau

Proposed, seconded and

Resolved to submit a formal written complaint to the Environment Agency.  Clerk to work with Cllr Wood and submit once ready.  All local authorities, district, county councillors and MP to copied in. 

2210/2/5 Village Hall grant review

Clerk advised following the boiler now being complete, confirmation the grant money has been spent has been requested so the paperwork can be filed.  Council noted that the Village Hall AGM is due to be held on 7th December and efforts should be made to have a representative there.
